Responsible and Resilient Electronic and Electromagnetic Materials
An EPSRC Network+ led by

Funded by

The RaRE Materials Network+ connects the UK community working on electronic and electromagnetic materials. Our focus is how these materials are sourced, made, used and recovered.
Modern electronics depend on critical and hard to source materials. From semiconductors and conductive inks to antennas, RF substrates and metamaterials, the materials choices made today set the environmental footprint and supply security of tomorrow's devices.
The network brings together researchers across engineering, chemistry, physics and the social sciences with industry, metrology and policy partners. We fund feasibility projects and exchanges, run themed events, and build a shared evidence base for responsible and resilient electronic materials.
Lower impact materials and processes, designed for reuse, repair and recovery.
Secure UK supply chains through substitution, recycling and new materials routes.
Materials that meet the demands of RF, microwave and sub-THz systems.
The investigators leading the network.
